The free version supports creating and running Linux and OS X guests and if it works the same way as the paid for version it can do this directly from the standard OS X installer app you download from the Mac App Store. Now the problem is locating that virtualbox guest additions iso file and running it. I instead suggest you download the free copy of Parallels Lite from the Mac App Store. Virtual Box in Pure OS with Mac OS X High Sierra as host. Even if you have access to a Mac, you won’t be able to download a copy of the OS you already have installed. Getting hold of an ISO is actually more difficult than you might expect. You’ll also need an ISO image of the macOS version you want to install. For introducing any new operating system the best process is to install it in VirtualBox first. What You’ll Need First, you’ll need to download a copy of Oracle VM VirtualBox. (VirtualBox is very fussy about the format/contents of the ISO.) macOS Catalina Image file for Virtualbox and VMWare. Since OS X has not come on DVDs or ISOs since Lion was released this means even more hard work on your part converting the installer in to an ISO. On top of that the process to install OS X in to a VirtualBox VM requires having the OS X installer as an ISO image. If it was a dog you would have it put down. Apart from the lack of Mac guest additions, you can only allocate a single CPU core, you are limited to a specific screen resolution, speed is awful, and I am not even sure copy&paste works. VirtualBox is extremely horrid for running Mac VM guests, the most polite comment I can provide is that it can be done.
